SmugMug > keywords > efforts > August 9, 2009 Daily Photo. The recovery effort continued today. These are just a few of the boats involved. I believe the NYC Police divers were on the larger NYC boat on the right. It was a hazy day so it was hard to get a clear shot and there were tons of press in the area closest to the boats which were very close to the Hoboken shoreline, well within the New Jersey state line. I guess New Jersey relies on the NYC divers. I understand the waters are very dangerous in the Hudson and the divers are at risk due to lack of visibility and currents, etc. I'm sure there are many remnants of old piers and ships down there which I heard was about 30 feet deep in the area. They did apparently raise a large part of the helicopter, but I didn't see that. Seven bodies have been recovered so far and there are two more to be recovered as well as the plane.

SmugMug > keywords > efforts > Ashik doesn't really like water...In this picture, he's attempting to build a small bridge across a creek of glacier runoff. His attempts were futile, as each boulder tossed into the runoff was just swallowed up by the icy water. After much heckling, Ashik gave into peer pressure and forded the river. Luckily for him, he was not swept away and managed to cross the creek (see next picture as he conquers his fears once and for all).
