SmugMug > keywords > flies > Tom Morgan and his wife, Gerri Carlson, just released this masterful collaboration, "Tom Morgan's Favorite Flies, Favorite Waters", combining her design talents and Tom's memories of fishing his favorite flies on his favorite waters. The book is a delightful collection of Tom's fishing and the strategies he used with his 12 favorite flies on his favorite waters. The printing of the book was done by Gerri on her own printing press and has a very unique binding style so fitting to the production. Before he was stricken with MS and still today, he is one of the most sought-after designer and builder of fly rods whether it be fiber glass, graphite or bamboo. It is a marvelous tribute showing the art talents of Gerri, the tiny flies tied by Rene Harrop, Craig Mathews and Mathew Doak with the book housed in a beautiful specially crafted box. Two of my photos were used which makes me doubly appreciative of this close friendship and admiration for 40 years.
